with the guidance of a parent or guardian.*
Open an Account
An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your checking account to cover a transaction. If you write a check, use automatic bill pay or use your debit card without having enough money in your checking account, you will overdraw the account.
To avoid this; Achieve offers two overdraft protection options to cover you.
Savings Overdraft Transfers
Transfer money from your savings to checking account to cover items that may be withdrawn from your account. It will also protect you from returned checks.
Eligible members can avoid the embarrassment and cost of returned checks, even if there are not sufficient funds for an automatic overdraft transfer from a savings account. If you qualify for Overdraft Privilege and would like the Credit Union to authorize and pay one-time debit card transactions you will need to Opt-In*.
Overdraft Privilege is a discretionary service offered to members in good standing which honors overdrafts to a checking account by check, withdrawal at a teller window, ACH withdrawal or one-time debit card transactions up to $1,000.00*. This means that should you inadvertently overdraw your account, we have the discretion to cover your overdraft**. If your items are paid, this service will save you the embarrassment and inconvenience of a returned item, as well as the fee normally charged to you by merchants for the returned items.
Overdraft Privilege is a courtesy, not a right. The Credit Union is not obligated to pay any item that would cause an account to overdraft.
For the Credit Union to authorize and pay one-time debit card transactions, you must Opt-In on the Overdraft Services Consent form.
