Debit Card Overdraft Transfers

It has come to our attention that debit card overdraft transfers were not being included in the count towards the monthly six (6) transfer and withdrawal limitation as required by federal regulations.  This limit does not apply to deposits.  It also does not apply to any loan payments if the loan is with the Credit Union.  Below is the section from our Truth-in-Savings Disclosure provided at the time you opened your account which describes these limitations in more detail. 

ACCOUNT LIMITATIONS — For Prime Share Savings, Special Savings, Kids Club Savings, Smart Savings, Individual Retirement Money Market, and Money Market Savings accounts, you may make no more than six (6) transfers and withdrawals from your account to another account of yours or to a third party in any month by means of a preauthorized, automatic, or Internet transfer, by telephonic order or instruction, or by check, draft, debit card or similar order. If you exceed these limitations, your account may be subject to a fee or be closed. For Individual Retirement Money Market accounts, you may not make any preauthorized, automatic or telephone transfers from your account at any time. For Premium Checking accounts, no account limitations apply. 

Examples of typical transactions that are counted towards the limit include: transactions requested by telephone with a live Credit Union employee; Call24 Telephone Banking; Online/Mobile Banking; and, automatic transfers to cover overdrafts due to a check, electronic ACH payment or debit card transaction.

Effective, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, transfers from savings to checking to cover debit card overdrafts will begin to be included in the count towards the monthly six (6) transfer and withdrawal limit.
